PCMF USA is proud to support Tom Horn, Honorary Consul of Monaco in San Francisco and long-time Y supporter and advocate of swimming safety and accessibility, as he challenged the community to step-up and participate in this year's Moveathon to raise money for and awareness of the Chinatown YMCA's programs.
Participants in the Swimathon were sponsored by friends, family and colleagues to swim as many laps (1 lap = 2 lengths = 50 yards) as they could in 1 hour. With Tom Horn generously matching all donations (and swimming and raising money for the event himself), the event raised over $30,000.
All proceeds go towards supporting the Y's youth and family programs, including the Safety Around Water program that PCMF USA supports, allowing to serve more children in the community and give them the essential swim skills needed to feel safe and confident around water.
